I joined the Department of Medicine at Cambridge University as a PhD student after being awarded the Adrian J Crisp PhD studentship. I received an MSc in NanoMedicine and a BEng in Medical Engineering from Swansea University. I am interested in medical imaging, 3D bone analysis, 3D printing and tissue engineering. My research within the Bone Research Group at Addenbrooke’s Hospital involves the development of biomarkers for the identification of Osteoarthritis. This is vital for early disease identification.
I am currently finishing my PhD, where my advisors are Dr Ken Poole in Addenbrooke’s Hospital and Dr Graham Treece, Dr Andrew Gee, Dr Tom Turmezei, Dr Tristan Whitmarsh in the Department of Engineering, on several studies concerning proximal femur analysis. They developed a novel way of assessing the 3D structure and shape of cortical bone called Cortical Bone Mapping (CBM). I have been using this technique throughout my PhD work.
